Christian Screenwrite Announces Winners of Third Annual Contest

January 6, 2006 (Bloomfield, N.J.)--Christian Screenwrite today announced the winners of its 2005 Christian screenwriting competition. Winners will receive cash awards and passes to the WYSIWYG Film Festival, an internationally recognized event for wholesome, family cinema entertainment.

John Patrick Bradley of Seaford, New York won first place for his drama, MYSTERY OF GOD about a Berlin Olympian turned Gestapo agent who risks his life to rescue Jewish children from the Holocaust.

"I thank the Lord for this incredible blessing and pray that He will use me in a Christian film industry which shall continue to glorify God, edify His church, and evangelize the world," said Bradley a freelance writing and script consultant.

Gerry Daly of Los Angeles, California won second place for his drama, THE MIRACLE CHILDREN, about children given special powers from God. Philip Abraham of Las Vegas, Nevada won third place for A TOUCHSTONE OF FAITH, about an angel posing as a ranch hand who is on an errand by God to prevent a poor widower from being forced to give up two of his children for adoption.

"I believe this is a great time to be a Christian screenwriter because Hollywood has seen the commercial potential of Christian films. The scripts entered into this year's competition continued to illustrate that Christian screenwriters write scripts that honor God and that are commercially viable," said LaVonne McIver James, founder of Christian Screenwrite.
